26th October 2006 We ran a Pink Lady competition on Tuesday 24th in support of the National Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. 23 played in albeit not very good weather. All the ladies wore pink and made a donation to play. Prizes were provided by some of the ladies that could not make the event as they are holidaying in India. Thanks to them. We raised £243 which is a marvellous effort given the small field. The prizes went to Nicola Sherrard 1st with 36 points, Sheila Sturgeon 2nd with 32 points and Jacky Lloyd-Davies 3rd with 31 points. Next week is the Halloween stableford when hopefully we shall all turn up on our broomsticks! The Christmas fund raiser in support of the Ramsey Ambulance Service is on Saturday 18th November at 10.30am. This is a floral art and Christmas decoration demonstration at the club by Mrs Eileen Gill. And finally a quick reminder that the Ladies AGM is on the 23rd November, preceded by an EGM starting at 7.00pm. 16th October 2006 (A message from the Captain) We are comning to the end of the season now but I have a few notes for you. My charity this year has been the Ramsey Ambulance Service. I chose this because we are all concerned in the North of the Island when we may have to be transported urgently to Nobles, I thought we could give them some extra equipment that they would like to have to make their lives easier. The charity bridge drive held last Wednesday at the club was very well supported and we raised just under £500. Tuesday October 24th we have a breast cancer fund raiser competition (In line with the national breast cancer awareness month of October). Everything and everyone in pink on that day. It will be a non-qualifying stableford competition. I have targeted to raise a £100 package for the day, but no doubt we will achieve more than that.
